  • Government has increased the Annual Budget allocation to the Health Sector from 11% to 12.3% in 2021
  • People’s Alliance for Reproductive Health Advocacy

(PARHA) in collaboration with PPASL has developed a Safe Motherhood and Reproductive Health Bill submitted to the Minister of Health and Sanitation for Cabinet discussions and onward presentation to Parliament.

  • 60 Champions (Politicians, Religious Leaders, Journalists, Youth-led Organizations, and members of CSOs) supported to popularize the amended Sexual Offences Act, through public engagements. They reached over 9,500 people in their various constituencies.
  • On-going collaboration with Government in the process of developing the first Health Finance Policy
  • 6,000 people sensitized through audio jingles, video documentaries on teenage pregnancy, SGBV
  • IEC materials with messages on teenage pregnancy and SGBV printed and distributed, reaching over 2,300 people.
  • 3,100 traditional and religious leaders sensitized on the Safe Motherhood and Reproductive Health Legislation.

30 stakeholders engaged on strategies on the Maputo Plan of Action which has led/contributed to the finalization of the Health Finance Policy and set up of the Model Court for sexual violence and related cases.
