PPASL, a volunteer-led organization and a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), held its Annual General Assembly (AGA) on Saturday, 21st December 2024 at the Association’s Headquarters at No. 1 Richard Street off Jones Street in Freetown.
The AGA is held yearly, and the Association’s governing body has the power, per the Association’s constitution, to adopt measures appropriate to conduct the AGA.
The 2024 AGA was an election year for the National Executive Committee (NEC). The NEC is directly responsible for oversight of the implementation of the organization’s policies by the Senior Management Team (SMT). Delegates to the General Assembly consist of the Honorary Officers, National Executive Committee /board members, and representatives from all the different branches of the Association.
After the elections, the following members were elected to the National Executive Committee (NEC) for a period of three years from 2025-2027:
Mr. Hassan Fuad Kanu- Honorary President
Mrs. Melrose Sesay – Honorary Treasurer
Mr. Samuel B. Weekes –Immediate Past President to serve as ex officio with no voting rights
Dr. Victor Massaquoi – Member
Ms. Rosaline Judy- Youth Representative elected by the PPASL Youth Action Movement
Ms. Mariama Sesay- Member
Mr. Ishmeal Fofanah-Member
Ms. Ruth Fornah -Member
